Key West Hammock Company
Stretch out and relax in our Jumbo Caribbean Hammock — the largest, most comfortable hammock we make. Hand-woven from soft-spun polyester cord in a micro-weave design, it uses more than ten times the cord of a traditional rope hammock, spreading your weight across the entire bed for cradling, pressure-free floating on air sensation.
At approximatly 7 feet long and 55 inches wide, the bed leaves ample room for one person to sprawl, two adults to stretch out, or the whole family to pile in. Our signiture micro-weave flexes into a pocket around you while still breathing freely, so it stays cool through the warmest afternoons. Beefy tropical hardwood spreader bars, finished in marine spar varnish, hold the bed open for easy entry and exit.

With its large dimensions and weight capacity of 500 lbs, the Jumbo Caribbean Hammock is luxurious and spacious for one, roomy for a couple, and capable of holding a small family, including the dog. We also highly recommend the Jumbo hammock for commercial situations such as hotels, resorts, and guest houses.
The secret to the unsurpassed comfort of the Jumbo Caribbean Hammock is our micro-weave bed. We use over ten times as much cord as a typical rope hammock, spreading your weight over a much larger surface area. The micro-weave will stretch and flex around the occupant, making a perfect pocket of comfort and also opening up for air circulation.
Each Jumbo Caribbean Hammock is a work of art, lovingly handwoven over about twenty hours. Our all-woman workforce has years of experience and knows exactly how to make a perfectly balanced hammock.
We use soft-spun polyester cords, tropical hardwood spreader bars coated with marine varnish, and stainless steel O-rings to make our hammocks weatherproof so you can leave them outdoors for the entire hammock season. Please store indoors for wintertime.
Fortunately, hanging a Jumbo Caribbean Hammock is more of an art than it is a science; things don't have to be exact. All you need is two solid points that are 13 or more feet apart and 4 feet or higher from the ground. Without a doubt, the best place to hang a hammock is between two trees. Look for trees that are sturdy and have been in the ground for a couple of years. They should be 13 or more feet apart. Any extra distance can be made up with rope or chain. We have different hanging kits in our Accessories section, if you have any doubts give us a call 305-293-0008.
You will need a good-sized porch to hang a Jumbo Caribbean Hammock. You can drill into 2x4’s or larger dimension lumber. A better option could be a hammock stand, like our Wood Arc Hammock Stand. Or check into our Mayan style hammocks that do not have the wood spreader bars, so they fit into much tighter spaces.
Two posts in the ground are the perfect place to hang a hammock. If the posts are already in the ground they need to be a minimum of 13 feet apart and 4 feet tall. If you are going to put the posts in yourself we recommend that you go about 14 feet apart and 5 feet tall, this will give you some leeway and adjustment for the perfect hang.
An Arbor or Gazebo is an amazing place to hang a hammock as the roof above you will provide a little shade from the sun or protection from the rain. Look for two posts that are 13 or more feet apart. The great thing about a hammock stand is that it allows you to put your hammock anywhere. On the porch, by the pool, or angled to take in that fantastic view. We have two high-quality stands, one metal and one wood. You can find them in our Hammock Stands department.
We began with a new KW hammock stand: our 20-year-old hardwood stand (which we loved) had given up the ghost. Justin carefully advised me on the new stand, and we agreed to hold off on a new hammock until we found out whether our old one might fit the new stand. It didn't. So we ordered--and have now received--the new KW hammock itself. It is extraordinarily comfortable (more tightly woven than our old one), and as it stretches a bit (with usage), we tighten the connection. This July 4th weekend it got its test (several robust young visitors eager to try it out, in pairs) and it passed with flying colors. A great product!
I love my hammock. This is the third one I’ve purchased in 15 years . I like to replace them with fresh new colors every 5 years . I don’t replace them for any reason other than I want a different color. These are the best hammocks. Most comfortable. Two people fit comfortably. The delivery process went smooth showed up within a week. Packaging was in great shape as well. Always maintain their shape and survive well through rough weather.
This purchase was a replacement. Looks like the quality is just as good as the one purchased 15 years ago.

Love my yellow hammock and the quality is amazing! The bar is well made and looks like it will hold up as opposed to a flat board which can warp. I was initially draw to Key West Hammocks because the hammock is made of cord as opposed to fabric. I've gone through so many hammocks that haven't held up. I still gave 5 stars but my only (somewhat) negative feedback is that the hammock has definitely faded over the summer. I guess that is to be expected in direct heat.
