Settle into the Jumbo Rope Hammock by Caribbean Hammocks — a jumbo-size take on the classic rope hammock. Each bed is hand-woven from thick soft-spun polyester cord in the classic double latch weave, where the ropes pull against one another to form a smooth, knotless surface. We use extra cord throughout so the weave sits tighter, giving you a more supportive place to land than a standard rope hammock.
The 6.5-foot bed opens to a full 55 inches wide, leaving room for one person to stretch out completely or two to share comfortably. Because it's rope rather than fabric, air moves freely through the weave — the reason a rope hammock still feels cool on the warmest afternoon. Solid hardwood spreader bars, sealed in marine varnish, hold the bed open so getting in and out takes no effort at all.
Every hammock is woven start to finish by hand. Our weavers — an all-woman workforce with decades of combined experience — know how to balance a bed so it hangs level and stays that way.
Built for seasons outdoors, the Jumbo Rope Hammock uses stainless steel O-rings and 40 hand-balanced polyester end cords that spread your weight evenly from the spreader bar across the bed. Weight capacity is 400 lbs. The polyester shrugs off sun and rain through spring, summer, and fall; we recommend storing it indoors over the winter.
Installation is quick and hassle-free. Hang it between two trees or mount it to a porch, gazebo, arbor, pergola, or sturdy wall joists.
The hammock measures 12.5 feet end to end, so you'll need a minimum of 13 feet between anchor points and at least 4 feet of height. It also fits our Wood Arc Hammock Stand and 15-foot Metal Tribeam Stand.

The Jumbo Rope Hammock is designed to hold around 400 lbs. You will find this hammock spacious for one person. However, the 55-inch wide spreader bar opens the hammock bed wide enough to hold two medium-sized people.
Our Jumbo Rope Hammock uses the classic double latch weave. The ropes pull against each other, creating the icon rope hammock look and knotless design. We use extra rope in all our hammocks so we can weave the bed tighter, creating a more comfortable laying surface.
Each Jumbo Rope Hammock is handwoven by skilled hammock weavers. Our all-woman workforce has years of experience and knowledge of how to weave a perfectly balanced bed.
We use soft-spun polyester cords, solid hardwood spreader bars coated with marine varnish, and stainless steel hardware to make our hammocks weatherproof so you can leave them outdoors for the entire hammock season. Please store indoors for wintertime.
Fortunately, hanging a Jumbo Rope Hammock is more of an art than it is a science; things don't have to be exact. All you need is two solid points that are 13 or more feet apart and 4 feet or higher from the ground.
Without a doubt, the best place to hang a hammock is between two trees. Look for trees that are sturdy and have been in the ground for a couple of years. They should be 13 or more feet apart. Any extra distance can be made up with rope or chain. We have different hanging kits in our Accessories section
An Arbor or Gazebo is an amazing place to hang a Jumbo Rope Hammock, as the roof above you will provide a little shade from the sun or protection from the rain. Look for two posts that are 13 or more feet apart. We recommend our Basic Hammock Suspension Kit that you will find in our accessories department
Two posts in the ground are the perfect place to hang a rope hammock. If the posts are already in the ground they need to be a minimum of 13 feet apart and 4 feet tall. If you are going to put the posts in yourself we recommend that you go about 14 feet apart and 5 feet tall, this will give you some leeway and adjustment for the perfect hang.
