The Caribbean Rope Hammock is designed to hold around 350 lbs. You will find this hammock spacious for one person. However, the 55-inch wide spreader bar opens the hammock bed wide enough to hold two medium-sized people.

Fortunately, hanging a Caribbean Rope Hammock is more of an art than it is a science; things don't have to be exact. All you need is two solid points that are 13 or more feet apart and 4 feet or higher from the ground.

Where

TWO TREES

Without a doubt, the best place to hang a hammock is between two trees. Look for trees that are sturdy and have been in the ground for a couple of years. They should be 13 or more feet apart. Any extra distance can be made up with rope or chain. We have different hanging kits in our Accessories section

ARBOR / GAZEBO

An Arbor or Gazebo is an amazing place to hang a Caribbean Rope Hammock, as the roof above you will provide a little shade from the sun or protection from the rain. Look for two posts that are 13 or more feet apart. We recommend our Basic Hammock Suspension Kit that you will find in our accessories department

TWO POSTS

Two posts in the ground are the perfect place to hang a rope hammock. If the posts are already in the ground they need to be a minimum of 13 feet apart and 4 feet tall. If you are going to put the posts in yourself we recommend that you go about 14 feet apart and 5 feet tall, this will give you some leeway and adjustment for the perfect hang.

HAMMOCK STAND

The great thing about a hammock stand is that it allows you to put your rope hammock anywhere. On the porch, by the pool, or angled to take in that fantastic view. We have two high-quality stands, one metal and one wood. You can find them in our Hammock Stands category.

Beautiful rope hammock.

Caribbean Rope Hammock in Tan: This is a great rope hammock and exactly what I was looking for. I couldn’t be happier with my selection. It is comfortable and looks great. I’ve not tried it with two people lying down but it sure works for a 6’ 2” guy weighing over 200 lbs.

When laid flat on the floor (without tension), the space between the 55”-wide spreader bars is about 78”and another 21” on each end from the spreader bar to the O-ring. The rope is spun polyester (same as what you can buy in the hardware store for use on a flagpole or boat) so you should expect some stretching (quite a bit initially). This kind of rope is very soft and stretchy so you may want to keep that in mind when purchasing a hammock stand. I’d suggest going with at least a 15 stand for this hammock.

It really is a beautiful hammock and the rope construction is top-notch. I’ll probably buy another when this one wears out.

May be tricky to connect - plan ahead

I am happier than I expected to be. The material is indeed softer than the cotton ones I've had in the past. I figured that synthetics would be harder, but turns out that cotton gets very hard once it gets wet. This one has been unchanged by the rain. I used to always use a blanket on the hammock, but you don't really need one with this.

Nicely made. Seems very durable.

I bought it in green and my daughter thought that was a mistake as the traditional looks is white. I find the green blends into the yard and calls less attention to the hammock. I like the green color.

Well made

We had an older Hammock that we loved. It was Polyester and we had it for about 20 Years. It was looking pretty rough although it still held up well. We were excited about the make and color (blue) of our new Hammock. It is very comfortable. My Husband is 6ft 5 inches and it gives him plenty of room.

I was really impressed with how soft the rope is. This thing is very comfortable and seems sturdy. I wrote "seems" because I've only had it set up for a few weeks. As time goes by I'll learn how durable it is. In the meantime, very happy!

Big hammock with soft strong ropes and a great color

Great color, extremely soft. We have gone through a number of hammocks, and while we have only had this one for a few months, it is holding up well so far, and we really like the softer ropes. Our last was 100% cotton and not only was it not soft, it didn't hold up well. It seems like this blend is a much better solution, softer and it seems like it will also be more durable.... Will update review if that doesn't turn out to be true.
